22/08/06 Boreham Wood 1 Billericay Town 1 Ryman Premier Division - Billericay threw away more league points, as once again they failed to overcome a lower league side. 2 points from 2 games should really be 4 or 6 against the two sides they have played. Billericay took the lead in the second half through Leon Hunter, but once again they failed to finish off a game and keep a lead and a Steve Norman free kick gave Folkestone a point to take home, which they didn't really deserve. 19/08/06 Boreham Wood 1 Billericay Town 1 Ryman Premier Division - Billericay's league campaign got off to a somewhat disappointing start against newly promoted Boreham Wood. Billy McMahon, Steve Heffer, Darren Blewitt and Danny Morgan all made there debuts. Billericay had to rely on a Lee Hodges rebound from a penalty to take a point. Billericay did have their chances, but they were spurned. Joe Flack should have won the game for Billericay in the final minutes, but hit his shot straight at ex-Chelmsford keeper Anthony Anstead. Billericay's next fixture is against Folkestone Invicta and fans will be expecting a comfortable victory. Team: McMahon, McSweeney, Kerrigan, Blewitt, Heffer, Dormer, Game, Hunter, Elder, Morgan (Flack), Ryan (Hodges). 17/08/06 Player News - Ex-Billericay goalkeeper Mel Capleton has agreed to help the club out and will feature in some of Billericay's opening games. Billericay have also signed ex-Southend defender Nick Skelton, ex-West Ham defender Darren Blewitt and ex-Dagenham and Redbridge forward Danny Morgan. Danny Morgan featured in the recent 5-3 friendly win over Witham Town. 12/08/06 Witham Town 3 Billericay Town 5 - Billericay won an entertaining game thanks to goals from Nathan Elder, Jamie Dormer 2 and Matt Game 2. Leon Hunter missed a penalty for Billericay and the game saw some trialists for Billericay with Darren Morgan particuarly impressive. 08/08/06 Billericay Town 3 Maldon Town 3 (Billericay win 5-3 on pens) - Billericay won their first piece of silverware since 1991, but didn't do it the easy way. Billericay fell behind to a goal from Lee Perry after good work from the exciting Whelpdale. Nathan Elder twice went close soon after, but it was down to Dave McSweeney to equalise. Some poor defending early in the 2nd half allowed Symonds to lob McMahon and make it 2-1. It soon became 3-1 to Maldon when Lee Perry scored again placing the ball over Billy McMahon from 25 yards. Tom Poole missed several chances, but it was again Dave McSweeney who got Billericay back in the game from a corner. Ex-Billericay Town player Steve Portway was sent off after kicking out at Warren Ryan and Billericay somehow managed to snatch extra time when Steve Heffer scored his first Billericay goal from the edge of the box. Billericay were the better side in extra time, but things tipped Maldon's way when Billericay keeper Billy McMahon was sent off for handling out the area. Captain Jamie Dormer kept Maldon out and it was left to a penalty shootout to decide the cup. Billericay took a 3-2 lead when Jamie Dormer saved ex-Blues player Frank Everitt's penalty. The score was 4-3 when Jamie Dormer stepped and scored the winning penalty to give Billericay the cup. 08/08/06 Player News - Billericay Town midfielder John Simmons has joined Great Wakering on loan and scored for them in a recent pre season friendly. 05/08/06 AFC Hornchurch 2 Billericay Town 0 - Billericay lost to Ryman Division 1 side Hornchurch with a poor performance. 04/08/06 Fixture News - Billericay have been drawn away to fellow Ryman Premier side East Thurrock Utd in the Westview League Cup 2nd Round. 01/08/06 Billericay Town 1 Dagenham and Redbridge 1 - Billericay produced a good perfromance against conference side Dagenham and Redbridge. Billericay had a number of players missing and fell behind to an early goal. Billericay managed to draw after Lee hodges picked himself up after being tripped in the box and scored the resulting penalty. 31/07/06 Billericay Town 4 Wivenhoe Town 2 - Billericay got back to winning ways thanks to goals from trialist Leon Antoine, Leon Hunter, Yohance Lewis and Tom Poole. Leon Hunter also missed a penalty for Billericay. 25/07/06 Billericay Town 1 Thurrock 0 - Billericay lost to a last minute McKenzie winner. Billericay had a strong side that played their part in an exciting pre season friendly. Billericay's team included ex-Farnborugh winger Mark Rooney on the right and trialist Yohance Lewis continued his run of pre season games for Billericay. 22/07/06 Canvey Island 2 Billericay Town 0 - Billericay lost their second pre season friendly against old foes Canvey Island. Billericay's team contained a number of trialists, with the majority failing to impress. 18/07/06 Billericay Town 2 Burnham Ramblers 0 - Billericay got their pre season off to a good start by beating local rivals Burnham Ramblers. Goals from Nathan Elder and Joe Flack were enough for victory. Surprisingly Billericay had only one trialist on show, Yohance Lewis, who previously played for Chelmsford City. 14/07/06 Fixture News - The Ryman Premier Division fixtures for the new season have been announced. Billericay start on Saturday 19th August away to newly promoted Boreham Wood. They then have two home games on the 22nd and 26th against Folkestone Invicta and Staines Town respectively. 07/07/06 Fixture News - The draws for the FA Cup and FA Trophy qualifying rounds have been made. Billericay are away to Hampton & Richmond Borough in the FA Cup on Saturday 16th September. Billericay are at home to Aylesbury Utd in the FA Trophy on Saturday 21st October. 20/05/06 Player News - Billericay have made their second excellent signing of the summer with the addition of Billy McMahon to the squad from Thurrock. Billy is a goalkeeper who started out with West Ham and has more recently been on loan at Ryman Premier division side Margate. |
